Sept. 3, 1933—Dec. 26, 2015 Willard "Bill" Nyhuis was born to Herman C. Nyhuis and Maude Otte Nyhuis, on Sept. 3, 1933, in Grand Rapids, MI. He passed away Dec. 26, 2015, at the age of 82, after a long, brave battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company and started a successful business in South Florida. He was always active in church and enjoyed boating, fishing, and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Cora Virginia Nyhuis. He has four children, Marcia (Ronald) of Florida, Craig (Ann Marie) of Florida, Brian of Florida and David of Texas. He has seven grandchildren, Steven, Robert, Daniel, Scott, Audrey, Cassandra and Madelynn; and his sister, Marilyn DeVries of Illinois. He was predeceased by his brother, Henry Nyhuis. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Wyndridge Healthcare and Rehab for their dedicated and wonderful care. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at the Crossville First United Methodist Church, followed by an internment in their Memorial Gardens. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
