Virginia's Story

Dec. 25, 1929―April 29, 2015 Virginia (Ginny) Mae Geszvain, 85, of Palmyra, MO, went to be with the Lord April 29, 2015. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, on Christmas Day 1929, to Osmond and Esther (Schultz) Olson. She was baptized Feb. 16, 1930, and confirmed April 2, 1944. On June 24, 1983, she married James (Jim) Geszvain at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson, and they resided in the Fort Atkinson area. They later retired to Sparta, TN, then moved to Crossville. Jim passed away April 1, 2014. Ginny was formerly employed at the Milky Way Restaurant, A & W, Schweiger Industries and Southgate Floral, all in Jefferson. She was a great baker, everything being home-made, and she loved growing roses. She also loved to dance. While in Wisconsin, she and Jim used to join a group of friends at the Black Stallion on Saturday nights and dance the night away. Ginny is survived by her five children, Sandra (Richard) Wright, Huntertown, IN, Gary (Dedra) Ramthun, Johnson Creek, WI, Dan (Karen) Ramthun, Watertown, WI, David (Peggy) Ramthun, Palmyra, MO, and Terry Pender, Crossville; four step-children: Nancy (Robert) Meyer, Minneapolis, MN, Mark (Michelle) Geszvain, Boise, ID, Dennis (Linda) Geszvain, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Mimi Geszvain, Bolingbrook, IL; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Osmond (Mary) Olson Jr, Bowling Green, KY; and sister-in-law, Eileen Olson, New Berlin, WI. She was preceded in death by her beloved Jim; parents; son, Larry; granddaughter, Jasmine; and brothers, Marvin, Ralph and Herbert Olson. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 9, at 5 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown, WI, with visitation at 4 p.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Jefferson following the service. Hafemeister Funeral Home, 611 E. Main St. Watertown, WI, is in charge of the arrangements.
