Virgie's Story

Feb. 18, 1926—April 7, 2016 Virgie Alloy Rogers, 90, of Crossville, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was born Feb. 18, 1926, in Knoxville, TN, daughter of the late Harry E. Parker and Alice (Chadwick) Parker. Virgie worked in housekeeping for the hospital system and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Rogers (Johnnie Sue), Knoxville, TN, Ronnie Rogers (Carolyn), Louisville, TN, and Charlie Rogers (Marcia), Currituck, NC. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Virgie was preceded in death by her sons, Billy Rogers, Charles Edward Rogers, Leonard Rogers and James Ray Rogers. Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at 3 p.m. with Bro. David Rowan officiating. Interment in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
