Sherman Dale Keck, 84, passed away at his Soddy Daisy home on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016.
A native of Claiborne County, TN, he was a son of the late Asher and Susie Mae Cole Keck.
Mr. Keck served as a radio operator in the US Navy during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge he moved to the Chattanooga area, making his home here ever since.
He enjoyed a longtime career as a PBX Technician with AT&T and was active in the AT&T Retirement Group. Following his retirement he founded the security company, Stop-A-Thief, Inc. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge.
His later years were spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Keck of Soddy Daisy, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Alan Arp of Johnson City, TN; Patricia Moody of Huntsville, AL, and Tony Moody of Hixson, TN; brother, Thomas Dane Keck of Crossville, TN; three grandchildren, Cole (Sarah) Moody of Huntsville, AL, Amber Moody of Soddy Daisy, TN, and Lauren Arp of Johnson City, TN; two great-grandchildren, Will and Anneliese Moody of Huntsville, AL; and nephew, Timothy Dane Keck of Crossville, TN.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., CDT, on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Crossville, TN.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m., EDT, at Hamilton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions are made to the American Cancer Society.
