Ruth Marie Ludeman, 98, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
She was born July 5, 1918, in Somerset, PA, daughter of the late Albert E. Burkholder and Etta (Fleegle) Burkholder.
She retired from NASA where she worked as a research librarian. Ruth was also a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her step-sons, Lee (Iris) Ludeman, Columbia, MD, and Larry Ludeman, Williston, FL; step-daughters, Lynn Schweizer, Elkridge, MD, and Deanna Bernard, Williston, FL; sister, Mary E. Sorg, Monroe, GA; sister-in-law, Jane Keeler Burkholder, North Huntington, PA; and nephew, Mike (Cathy) Schrage, of Georgia. Ruth is also survived by three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; extended family; best friends, Ted and Regina Brown; and her loving caregivers, Barbara Sherry and Pam Sherrill.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by: Second Husband, Dean Robert Ludeman; First Husband, Robert S. Henery; Brothers, Albert M. Burkholder, James A. Burkholder, Clarence E. Burkholder, and Earl H. Burkholder; and Sisters, Virginia B. Schrage and Dorothy B. Totten.
Private family services were held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at 6 p.m. at Bilbrey Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Columbia, MD.
