Roxie V. Cantley (née Wyatt), 79, of Elyria, OH, passed away March 18, 2017.
She was born Aug. 1, 1937, in Thomas Springs, TN, and was a 1955 graduate of Cumberland County High School, Crossville. For 17 years, she was employed in the produce department at Apples in Elyria. Roxie was a member of East Broad Street Church of Christ, where she was a bible school teacher. She was a former Girl Scout leader and served on the County Council.
Roxie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold R.; daughters, Nancy (Glenn) Scarborough and Cheryl (Larry) Hunnicutt, both of Elyria; grandchildren, James, Alex, Jeffrey and Valerie Scarborough and BJ, Thomas and Zachary Hunnicutt and Angela Pisani; great grandchildren, Olivia Scarborough, Axl Hunnicutt and Sophia and Thomas Pisani; brothers, Donald (Diann), Douglas (Oda), Carlos Dewey (Marilyn) and Delmer Wyatt; and sister, Peggy Welch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Ova Wyatt; brothers, T. C., Charles, Ralph, Dexter and Dennis Wyatt; and sister, Essie Simmons.
Friends will be received Thursday, March 23, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at East Broad Street Church of Christ, 1125 East Broad St., Elyria.
Friends will also be received Friday, March 24, 2017, from 11 a.m. until the time of a noon service in the church. Minister Harold Reddick will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
