Feb. 5, 1960 – March 17, 2015 Ricky Allen Seals, 55, a lifelong resident of Pikeville, passed away March 17, 2015. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church. Ricky was an investigator with the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department. He served his community for 37 years with the Pikeville City Police, the Pikeville Fire Department and the Sheriff’s Department. Ricky was an avid motorcyclist. He also enjoyed photography and Jeep riding. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. He also worked with Angel’s Wrecker Service for many years. Ricky was a member of several organizations — the International Association of Arson Investigators, Fraternal Order of Police, Policeman’s Benevolent Association and the Southeast Tennessee Meth Task Force. Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, Winfred Cline Seals. Left behind to cherish Ricky’s memory are his son, Robert (Toshia) Seals of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Ashley (John Paul) Thomas of Pikeville; grandchildren, Johnathan Cline Thomas, Scarlet June Seals and Colt Wayne Thomas; parents, Helen (Tommy) Johnson of Pikeville and Winfred “Duck” (Mickey) Seals of Spring City; sister, Sherry (John) Campbell; nephew, Brandon Smith; and many extended family, friends, and the entire Pikeville community. He was a true servant of the people and he will be missed by all those that knew him. A Celebration of Ricky’s life was held March 22 at the Cold Springs Baptist Church, with Bro. Mark Wilson and Bro. Ronny Colvard officiating. Burial was in the Iron Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Swafford, Chris Troglin, Chris Holland, Angelo Oreto, Cody and Matt Lockhart, Daryl Angel, Ernest Seals, Ben Buckner and Clay Holmes.
