Sept. 29, 1930—June 19, 2015 Richard Thomas Walker, 84, of Fairfield Glade, was called home to be with the Lord June 19, 2015, peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born Sept. 29, 1930, in Memphis, son of the late Llewellyn Walker and Marguerite (Holden) Walker. Mr. Walker proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Air Force. Once his military service ended, he attended the University of Tennessee and in 1957 he received his Bachelors degree in electrical and mechanical engineering. Dick worked at Adams Craft Herz Walker (ACHW) by designing and supervising electrical and mechanical projects until his retirement in 1998, and continued to do consulting work for many years thereafter. Dick was an elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Fairfield Glade. He is survived by his wife, Joe Ann Weakley Walker; his children, Thomas Guy Walker and Linda Faye Kennedy (Robert), both of Crossville; step-children, Robert Mahler Jr. (Holly) of Texas, Shirley Smith (Tim) of Memphis, Margaret Wagster (Marvin) of Franklin and Candice Inman (David) of Valrico, FL: and brothers, Jack Walker of Signal Mountain and Carl Walker of North Carolina. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Betty Glover Walker; brother, Gene Walker; and sisters, Ruth Curly and Dorothy Fretz. Funeral services with full military honors by Cumberland Veterans Honor Guard will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church Saturday, June 27, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Stephen Hill officiating. Burial will be Sunday, June 28, at 11 a.m. in Memphis Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday, June 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bilbrey Funeral Home.
