Richard Jacob Radtke, born to Robert and Ella Radtke on Jan. 24, 1936, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 12, 2016. He is preceded in death by Robert, Ella, and brother Robert.
Dick was born and raised in Fond du Lac, WI. He was the captain of both the football and tennis teams at Carroll College in Waukesha, WI. It was there that he met his wife, Carol. They were married soon after and spent almost 58 years together.
Dick retired after 35 years as vice president of sales at Washington National Insurance Company. His colleagues there will be a fraternity for life. Dick enjoyed golf, fishing, cribbage and his weekly football pools that he shared with his son and son-in-laws. Dick and Carol loved to travel, visiting friends and family but their favorite destination was Maui where they spent the winter months at Maui Hill Resort. In Maui they made lifelong friends expanding throughout U.S. and Canada.
He will be sadly be missed by all that knew him as he graced each one with his love and laughter. Dick is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Tammy (Tim) Ohm and Cindy (Tim) Disher; son, Jeff Radtke; sister, Pauline Noland; and sister-in-law, Beverly (Jim) Cupples. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church on Monday, July 18, 2016, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jay Archer and the Rev. Moses Han officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairfield Glade Methodist Church, 231 Westchester Dr., Fairfield Glade, TN 38558.
