Richard "Dick"'s Story
Richard "Dick" Lawson Gould passed away at Cumberland Medical Center on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016. He was born in Urbana, OH, on March 11, 1933, the son of Richard and Elizabeth Milam Gould.
He leaves his devoted wife of more than 59 years Patricia Summers Gould. He is also survived by his brother Charles E. Gould and his wife Bonnie, sister Barbara Jean Whilrock and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Dick served in the U.S. Navy for six years. After serving his country proudly, he then worked as a chemist for Proctor and Gamble in Portsmouth, VA, and then as a chemist for for Smith-Douglass Co. in Norfolk, VA, where he was then transferred to Saginaw, MI, and finished his career at Saginaw Steering Gear General Motors.
His most precious membership was his baptism with his wife in First Christian Church in Crossville in 2008. He belonged to the Crossville Masonic Lodge and various Masonic bodies in Crossville, Spring City and Dayton, TN, and Findley, OH, NRA life member and Black Belt Judo Federation where he held a black belt.
A private Masonic service was held at Crossville Masonic Lodge on Oct. 29, 2016.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
