Rheba's Story

March 17, 1930—March 20, 2015 Rheba Beatrice Crane, 85, of Crossville, passed away March 20, 2015. She was born March 17, 1930, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Felt and Ollie Barnwell Clayton. She was retired after many years, having a successful career as an advertising consultant, working in Washington D.C. and Chicago. She was an avid reader and had a love for animals. She is survived by her nephew, Howard Upchurch and his wife, Kara, of Pikeville; niece, Molly Dishman and her husband, Patrick Higgenbotham, of Crossville; great nephews, Cale Upchurch of Pikeville and Luke Upchurch and Erik Dishman, both of Crossville; great-neices, Allison Dishman and Emily Upchurch, both of Crossville and Scout Upchurch of Pikeville; and cousins, Mary Swafford of Crossville and Gordon VanHoy, also of Crossville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard Upchurch and Cornell Proctor Upchurch, and nephew, Charles Proctor Upchurch. Graveside services were held March 24 at Tollett's Chapel Cemetery. Pastor Greg Smart officiated. Pallbearers were Erik Dishman, Luke Upchurch, Patrick Higgenbotham, Howard Upchurch, Clay Roberson and Phil Crawford. Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
