Sept. 4, 1927—Dec. 5, 2015 Philip Joseph Ardire, 88, departed this life Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, in Cookeville, TN. He was born in Cleveland, OH, on September 4, 1927. Philip is survived by his wife of 57 years, Johanne Urankar Ardire; children, Debra (Bob) Burkovich, Lauren (Rob) Scasny, Philip (Amy) Ardire and Danielle (Chris) Ewald; grandchildren, Samuel, Katherine and Emily Ardire, Andrew Ardire, Kara (David) Ankney, Kalen and Madelaine Scasny, Morgan and Adrian Ewald; great granddaughter, Alese Ankney; sister, Ida Ardire; and many nieces and nephews. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Maddelena DelMasto Ardire and Joseph Ardire, and son, Bradford John Ardire. Philip graduated early from Collinwood High School to serve our country in WWII as a member of the U.S. Navy. He graduated from the University of Toledo and spent the majority of his working career at the Dow Chemical Company. Upon retirement Philip and Johanne made their home in Fairfield Glade, TN. Philip was devoted to his family. He enjoyed spending his spare time tinkering in his garage with his cars, going for drives, golfing and playing bridge with friends. He will be greatly missed. A memorial funeral mass with military rites will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Fairfield Glade, TN, on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at 10 a.m., with a reception to follow to celebrate his life. Private interment will be at a later date in Georgetown, KY.
