May 3, 1940—April 30, 2015 Nancy Boman, 74, of Cookeville, passed away April 30, 2015, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home. The Rev. Bobby Floyd will officiate with interment to follow in Welch Memorial Cemetery. Ms. Boman was born May 3, 1940, in Davidson, TN, to the late Van Buren and Martha Jane Winningham Nickens. Ms. Boman was register of elections for Putnam County for many years. She had also worked for the Putnam County Trustee Office and was a School Board member. She enjoyed serving and working with the public. She was a wonderful baker and cook. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughter, Christian Boman of Crossville, TN; son, Chanson Boman of Cookeville, TN; the father of her children, Bill Boman of Monterey, TN; sisters, Rosemary Winn Grinder Of Monterey, TN, and Peggy Walker of Monterey, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Alicia Nickens Of Danville, KY, and Jack and Karin Nickens Of Roanoke, VA; brother-in-law, Buzz Biggers of Cookeville, TN; special friend, Ann Tomlinson of Cookeville, TN; and numerous other friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Biggers, and brothers, Van Buren Nickens, Jr. and Bob Nickens. The family received friends at Goff Funeral Home on Monday, May 4, 2015. D.M. Goff Funeral Home, Inc., Monterey, TN, was in charge of arrangements.
