Mark Leo Stenson, 74, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away Oct. 24, 2016. He was born May 6, 1942, in Ottumwa, IA, the son of John Clifton and Ruth Buyack Stenson.
Mark was a US Navy veteran of four years during which he made many Med Cruises. He worked for Hyster and then General Motors where he retired after 23 years as a supervisor.
His hobbies were flying radio controlled model airplanes which kept him happily occupied for 30 years and also volunteering at the Cumberland County Playhouse as an actor, usher, handyman, etc. He always thanked veterans, police and firemen for their service, as he was a compassionate individual and will be missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheron; sister, Stephanie Ford and her husband Dick; and brother, Timothy Stenson and his wife Kathy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Nelson, Anthony and John.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Hood Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. at Fairfield Glade Community Church. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Mark.
