July 12, 1944—Oct. 29, 2015 After a fiercely fought battle against ovarian cancer, Marie Ruth Draudt slipped from our loving arms on Oct. 29, 2015. Having spent her life as an RN and then as a massage therapist, she was a positive life-force in her community, always helping those in need of her special way of caring and concern. She was an active member of the BPOE Lodge 2751 in Crossville, an avid lover of music and a formidable dancer. Her skills in the kitchen were unsurpassed when creativity was needed. Born to William Draudt and Gladys Cushmore Draudt in San Antonio, TX, she is survived by her sister, Joanne Landi of Maplecrest, NY; brothers, Bill of Swan Lake, NY, and David of Austin, TX; life partner, Chadwick Pryson of Knoxville, TN; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends in Austin, TX. Her recently departed mother, Gladys, was her last primary concern in her life, having been her loving caregiver for as long as she was able. All donations to Marie should be directed to the Elks Lodge 2751 in Crossville or towards the Angel Tree Fund to help needy children in Cumberland County have a joyful Christmas. A memorial service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at 11 a.m. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service followed by a Life Celebration at 1 p.m. at the Elks Lodge 2751 in Crossville. Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
