Linda Ann Barnwell, 69, of Crossville, TN, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
She was born Jan. 10, 1947, in Crossville, daughter of the late Clarence Simmons and Dorothy (Latham) Simmons. Linda worked as a housekeeping supervisor for Norfolk Navy Lodge until retiring in 2002. She also attended the Pine Grove Church of God of Prophecy.
She was loved by so many and never met a stranger. Her laugh was contagious and her smile would light up a room. She was so much to so many: Mom, Mother, Ma, Grandma, G-Maw and Gah. To her husband of 49 years, she was his girl, his soulmate and his rock. Linda's family was her everything and her unselfish love was never-ending. She will be missed by so many.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Edward Barnwell, Crossville; daughters, Stephanie Lynn Apple and Sheila Ann Collette, both of Crossville; grandchildren, Amanda Bennett, Amelia Apple, K. Jacob Collette, Devin Apple and Joshua Collette; great-grandchildren, Camdyn Bennett and Cooper Bennett; brother, Steve Simmons, Everett, WA; and sister, Susan Tabor, Crossville.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her great-grandchildren, Madi Bennett and Hunter Collette, and brother, John Simmons.
Funeral services were held at Church of God of Prophecy on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Todd D. Bagley officiating. Interment in Tollett's Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Allen Tabor, Eugene Adams, Brady Adams, Jacob Collette, Devin Apple and Joshua Collette.
