Celebration of Life services for Larry L. Drysdale, 76, of Monterey, TN, will be conducted on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Monterey United Methodist Church, 124 N. Holly St. in Monterey, with full military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard. Rev. Jerry Mayo and Rev. Connie Hall will officiate.
Mr. Drysdale was born on Feb. 5, 1941, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Arthur and Alma Ginder Drysdale. Mr. Drysdale passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017, at WyndRidge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossville. Mr. Drysdale was a United States Air Force Vietnam veteran, serving as captain. He was a member of Monterey United Methodist Church, where he was on the board of directors for AGAPE Preschool, sang with the church choir and community choir and traveled to Mississippi seven years on mission trips after Hurricane Katrina. He was a retired salesman. He was a volunteer at Cumberland County Playhouse for 14 years and he loved golf and his bridge group.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Edna Leffler Drysdale of Monterey; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah Whiteside of Shelbyville, IN, Allyson and Dean Rodahl of Fort Collins, CO, and Carmen and Dr. Mark Turrill of Redwood Valley, CA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Amanda Drysdale of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Stephen and Hannah Oster of Morristown, IN; 13 grandchildren, Natasia, David (and Michaela), Larry (and Nicole), Ben, Sam, Schuyler, Abigail, Adeline, Chance, Jacob, Taylor, Jax and Emma; and two great grandchildren, Britton and Grace.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be given to AGAPE Preschool, in c/o Monterey United Methodist Church, 124 N. Holly St., Monterey, TN 38574. Call (931)839-2597.
