Joseph's Story

Sept. 6, 1919—April 4, 2015 Joseph Anthony Aiello Sr., 95, of Fairfield Glade, passed away April 4, 2015, at Life Care Center of Crossville. He was born Sept. 6, 1919 in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Frank Aiello and Catherine (Romano) Aiello. Joseph proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a government contracting officer, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a member of the Catholic Church. He is survived by his sons, Joseph Anthony Aiello Jr. of Maryland and John A. Aiello of California; daughters, Donna Louise Pascrell of New Jersey, Marie Rodgers of New Mexico and Nancy A. Granados of Maryland; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Elinor (Carson) Aiello; son, Gary Aiello; father, Frank Aiello; mother, Catherine (Romano) Aiello; brothers, Anthony Aiello, Louis Aiello, Frederick Aiello and Sam Aiello; and sisters, Edith Penna, Tina Dipietro, Theresa Dembski, Rose Accomando, Philomena Totaro and Mary Gentilella. Prayer services will be held today, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. at Bilbrey Funeral Home. Mass will be at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Saturday, April 11, at 10 a.m., with Father Alberto Sescon officiating. Interment will be at a later date in St. Francis of Assisi Columbarium.
