Joe Monroe Goodwin, 93, of Crossville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at his home in Crossville.
He was born Saturday, Dec. 1, 1923, in Sparta, TN, son of the late John Douglas Goodwin Sr. and Amanda (Hampton) Goodwin.
He worked as a game warden for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and was of the Methodist faith. Joe also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the World War II, where he became a POW for a period of time.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Goodwin, Crossville; and sons, Steve (Donna) Goodwin, West Point, GA, and Greg (Tammie) Goodwin, Crossville. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, John Douglas Goodwin Jr.; and sisters, Elise Massa and Mary Lee Goodwin.
Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Charles Anderson officiating. Interment in Cookeville City Cemetery.
