Feb. 18, 1919—Sept. 17, 2015 Jewell Dell Smith Taber, 96, was born on Feb. 18, 1919, in Cumberland County, TN, to Wade and Lucy Pugh and passed away on Sept. 27, 2015, in Crossville, TN, with her family surrounding her. She was a housewife that lived in Cumberland County all her life. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized Jan. 7, 1951, as a Jehovah's Witness. Jewell enjoyed gardening, writing poetry and taking care of her cats. She was survived by her sons, Donald Smith and Delbert Smith (Kay); daughters, Frances Hassler, Jean Smith, Joyce Cooper, Sue Music (Vann) and Carolyn Sutton (Kimsey); 28 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 17 great great grandchildren. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, Wade Hampton Pugh and Lucy Ann Webb Pugh; three husbands, J.B. Smith of 28 years, Zeb Carter of three years and Holland Taber of 19 years; and sons, David, Dexter and Edward Smith. A memorial service for Jewell was held on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Crossville, TN. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
