James "Clyde" Voyles Sr., 87, of Cave Spring, GA, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016, at PruittHealth in Rome, GA.
He was born May 18, 1928, in Tampa, FL, son of the late Simon Oliver Voyles and Bertha (Clifford) Voyles.
Clyde worked as a dredge operator and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Mae Voyles; son, James "Buddy" Voyles Jr. (Jessica); daughters, Brenda Voyles, Linda Green (Marvin) and Maxine McNeal; and sister, Bobbie Miller.
He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by her daughter, Faye Taylor; brothers, Elmer Voyles, Troy Voyles, Leland Voyles and Cliff Voyles; and sisters, Edith Fisher, Delma Nettles, Selma Bean and Gladys Barrow.
Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Friday, May 6, 2016, at 3 p.m. with Bro. Freddie Melton officiating. Interment in Mayland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Anthony Voyles, Chris Bowles, David Bowles, John Asbell, Lynn Moore and Colby Wilmith. Honorary pallbearer was Mike Couch.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
