Oct. 10, 1938—March 6, 2015 James Jerome Toomey, “Jerry,” 76, was born Oct. 10, 1938, in Portsmouth, OH, to Erwin and Elma Toomey, and passed away March 6, 2015, in Crossville. He was an analyst for Ford Motor Company and also served in the Army. He enjoyed golfing and was in the Grady Group Golf League. He was a starter ranger for Druid Hills. He ushered at the Cumberland County Playhouse and, in earlier years, at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Although he enjoyed travelling, he recently found going on cruises was particularly high on his list. He is survived by his wife, Karen Tighe Toomey; sons, Jim Toomey and Jeff Toomey (Tina); daughter, Julie Yeskie (Chris); grandchildren, Kristin, Nicholas, Nathan, Katelyn and Rachel; brother, Don Toomey; sister, Ileen Houser; and dog, Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin Toomey and Elma Frantz Toomey; brothers, Jack and Bob Toomey; and sister, Rosemary Dunn. The funeral service took place at Christ Lutheran Church in Fairfield Glade March 10, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Doug MaGinn officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Yeskie, Jim Toomey, Nathan Yeskie, Nick Toomey, Jeff Toomey and Vince Jozwiak Arrangements made by Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
