James "Earl" Dean, 79, of Crossville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Dominion Senior Living of Crossville. He was born Aug. 27, 1937, in Lakeland, FL, son of the late Fred Warren Dean Sr. and Blanche Lee (Henry) Dean.
Earl worked as the president of Monticello Canning Company, was a member of Central Baptist Church and served over 20 years on the Crossville City Council, including two terms as city mayor. He also served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Dean, Crossville; son, Kevin Dean and wife Sara, Crossville; granddaughter, Lilly Dean, Crossville; and brother, Fred Warren Dean Jr., Crossville.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred "Gerry" Geraldine (Johnson) Dean, and brother, Jack Dean.
Visitation will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m., with a Masonic Service following at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Central Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Roland Smith and Rev. Billy Kemp officiating. Interment in Green Acres Memory Gardens with full military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be the local Widow's Sons Masonic Riders Association.
