Aug. 18, 1914—Dec. 13, 2015 Ira Eugene Selby, 101, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 13, 2015, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at Hood Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Dec. 15, from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with Bro. Ralph Reagan officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memory Gardens. Mr. Selby was born Aug. 18, 1914, in Bledsoe County, the son of the late John and Mary Selby. He was a farmer and shopkeeper. He enjoyed playing the fiddle and never missed an episode of WWE. He is survived by his children, T.J. Selby and his wife, Annette; Jim Selby and his wife, Linda; John Selby and his wife, Beverley; Gail Hall; Betty Buckner and her husband, Rocky; Bill Selby and his wife, Linda; and Bob Selby and fiancée Robin Reynolds, all of Crossville; stepson, Elbert Reed and his wife, Mary, of Florida; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie; brothers, Carmack and Ridley Selby; sisters, Jessie Hedgecoth and Leah McCuiston; and grandson, Jackie Staggs. Pallbearers were Greg Selby, Steve Selby, Jon Selby Matthew Selby, Brian Selby, Michael Staggs and Wayne Hale Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) is in charge of the arrangements.
