April 15, 1924—April 21, 2015 Ida Jane Burgess, 91, of Crossville, passed away April 21, 2015, at her home in Crossville. She was born April 15, 1924, in Sparta, TN, the daughter of the late Virgil and Elizabeth (Marshall) Eller. She worked as a cook and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her son, Jerry Tanner (Kathy) of Mount Juliet, TN; daughters, Sue Tanner Norvil of Mount Juliet and Marie Tanner Lamb (Howard) of Mount Juliet; sister, Edith McAnally of Browntown; stepsons, Charles Burgess of Crossville and Monte Burgess (Phyllis) of Pleasant Hill; and stepdaughter, Margie Lewis (Jerry) of Pleasant Hill. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Simpson "Simp" Burgess; second husband, Bryce Miller; first husband, Charlie Tanner; son, Charles Tanner; daughter, Judy Douglas; stepson, Carl Burgess; son-in-law, Pete Norvil; father, Virgil Eller; and mother, Elizabeth (Marshall) Eller. Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home April 25, with Bro. Eugene "Butch" Stapleton officiating. Interment was in New Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Douglas, Shiloh Burgess, Monte Burgess, Tanner Barham, Jerry Wayne Tanner and Eddie Tanner. Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
