Herbert Leo Houston, 86, of Crossville, passed away Feb. 28, 2017. He was born June 2, 1930, in Crossville, the son of James and Julie Barnett Houston. He worked many years farming and was a member of Linary Church of Christ. He was a kind and gentle man who loved his family greatly, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Billy Houston and his wife Hazel, David Houston and his wife Patricia and Tom Houston and his wife Marsonette, all of Crossville; daughters, Nancy Jones and her husband Sonny, Eva Kay Parsons, Joy Miller and her husband Herman, Angel Smith and her husband Jimmy and Kimberly Thompson and her husband Kirby, all of Crossville; sisters, Alice Music of Crossville and Effie Rogers of Red Bank, TN; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Houston; grandson, Dakota Thompson; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Burial was in Linary Cemetery.
