March 9, 1910—March 30, 2015 Helen Virginia Gore, 105, of Crossville, passed away March 30, 2015. She was born March 9, 1910, in Bryant, IN, the daughter of Roy and Anna Weaver Bogardus. She helped build B-29 bombers during the war and was lovingly referred to as "Rosie the Riveter." She also worked many years as a sales clerk with Kress Dept. Store. She was a member of the Homemaker's Club and the Mayland Senior Center, where she received the Outstanding Senior of the Year Award. She was a member of the Methodist faith and attended Central Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Claude and Merle Bogardus, and a twin brother at birth. She was also preceded by her sister, Gladys McIntyre. Funeral services were held April 1 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Pastor Roland Smith officiated the service, with burial in Mayland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Zunich, Randy Dalton, John Carlisle, Donny Johnson, Keith Gowen and Quentin Glenn. Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
