Funeral services for Mr. Harry Richard "Dick" Snyder, 74, of the Mayland Community in Cumberland County, were held Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Horner Funeral Home in Monterey. Graveside services and interment will be Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at noon at Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jim Rogers will officiate.
Dick passed away Monday afternoon, Aug. 22, 2016, at his home. He was born Dec. 12, 1941, in Ann Arbor, MI, to the late Dr. Robert DeBra and Helen Harper Snyder. Dick was a retired accountant with NCR. After moving to Cumberland County he worked a number of years in Fairfield Glade.
Mr. Snyder was a collector of antique classic bicycles and was involved in the Wheelmen's Club, a group dedicated to keeping alive the heritage of American cycling. He was well-known as a gifted artist in wood carving. Family, friends and many neighbors received his hand-crafted clocks, dishes, baby cradles and other novelties. He had a deep love for his Boston Terrier, Jenny. Dick was of the Protestant faith.
Dick is survived by several extended family members and friends.
Horner Funeral Home in Monterey is in charge of arrangements.
