Gordon Billy "Chick" Ryan, 79, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Cumberland House in Crossville. Gordon was born on May 27, 1937, in Crossville to Samuel Luther and Bessie McCormack Ryan.
He served in the U.S. Army and the Tennessee National Guard. He was employed in sales at Goodyear in Nashville for 22 years. He returned to Crossville in 1989 and began a career in real estate. He was of the Methodist faith and was baptized as a child. He enjoyed NASCAR, UT and NFL football, and visiting with family and friends.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Edward, Raymond, Jake and Ernest; one sister-in-law, Katherine Ryan; one niece, Mary Lucille Jenkins; and one great-niece, Kendra Dew.
Survivors include one brother, Samuel (Donna) Ryan; 10 nieces and nephews, Mike Ryan, Margaret Boney, Karen Ryan, Joel Ryan, Jennie Gurkin, Sarah Vandergriend, Anna Baggerman, Elizabeth McBee, Larry Ryan and Rob Ryan; 17 great-nieces and nephews; seven great-great nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ryan and Billie Ryan.
The family received friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, from 11 a.m. to1 p.m. at Bilbrey Funeral Home with services that followed at 1. The Rev. Drew Shelley officiated. Burial was in Crossville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brent Ryan, Derek Miller, Matthew Miller, Larry Ryan, Rob Ryan, Jim Lansford and Gary Lansford.
