Aug. 6, 1938—Sept. 14, 2015 Glyncon E. Garrett, 77, of Monticello, KY, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY. He was born Aug. 6, 1938, in Crossville, TN, the son of the late Yetmon and Delta (Beaty) Garrett. He is survived by his wife, Nell Dean (Richardson) Garrett; son, Gregg Garrett (Gail); daughter, Delise Upchurch (Frank); grandchildren, Yvonne Morgan (Derek), Lance Garrett, Drew Garrett, Brooke Garrett and Ana Upchurch; and great-grandchildren, Reese Garrett, Makenzie Morgan and Madison Morgan. He is also survived by his brothers, Garry and Danny Garrett, and sister, Nelda (Garrett) Copeland, along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Garrett. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Clark, Bro. Seth Denney and Bro. Jim Kingry officiating. Burial was in the Lockett’s Chapel Cemetery. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Lockett’s Chapel Cemetery Fund or Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home of Monticello, KY, was in charge of the arrangements.
