July 11, 1916—Oct. 10, 2015 Gladys C. Draudt passed away Oct. 10, 2015, in Austin, TX. She was born on July 11, 1916 in Brooklyn, NY. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Emelia (Hoeltz) Cushmore; sisters, Ruth DeSalvia and Malvene Stormer; and beloved husband, William W. (Bill) Draudt. She is survived by her children, Marie R. Draudt, William C. Draudt, David W. Draudt and Joanne Draudt Landi, and by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Gladys spent most of her early life in New Jersey. She graduated from Guilford College in North Carolina as a lab technician in 1938. She and Bill were married Sept. 7, 1941. The family moved to Youngsville, NY, in 1961. Upon retiring, Gladys and Bill moved to Crossville, TN. After her husband’s passing she spent several years at Uplands Retirement Village in Pleasant Hill where she was involved in many community activities and was an avid crafter. She was a member of the Quaker Religious Society of Friends. Gladys will be buried beside her husband in Pleasant Hill in a private ceremony.
