Geraldine "Gerry" Parker, 89, of Crossville, TN, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Good Samaratin Society in Fairfield Glade, TN.
She was born May 27, 1927, in Smithville, TN, daughter of the late Thomas Alfred Parker Sr. and Willie (Bryan) Parker. Gerry attended Tennessee Technical University and was of the Baptist faith. She made her career as an executive assistant for the United States Congress.
She is survived by her nephew, Kenneth Lynn Cook, Mount Juliet, TN; and nieces, Peggy Bilbrey Smith, Crossville, Patti Baker, Mount Juliet, TN, and Sandi Carter, Mount Juliet, TN. She is also survived by many other great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Alfred Parker Jr.; and sisters, Jessie Bilbrey and Carolyn Cook.
A graveside service was held at Crossville City Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Chase Baker officiating.
