Georgeanne Dorothy Lively Hubbard, of Fairfield Glade, joined our Lord in his grace on Sept. 28, 2016. She passed into his hands, with her husband by her side, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center after battling cancer.
Georgeanne was born on Sept. 8, 1945, in Kinston, NC, to Bobby Joe (BJ) Lively and Georgeanne (Anne) Dorothy Weeks Lively.
While going to school at Oklahoma College for Women, she met the man who would become her lifelong partner, Carl Aubrey Hubbard. On March 13, 1964, in Grady County, OK, Carl and Georgeanne were married. Their love endured throughout the years as they travelled the world and raised a family. Carl and Georgeanne had two children, Suzanne Michelle and Carl Aubrey Jr. Georgeanne was predeceased by her mother and father, Bobby Joe and Georgeanne Dorothy Lively, and her daughter, Suzanne Michelle.
Georgeanne was a dedicated wife and mother. While Carl served our country in the Army, Georgeanne was a full-charge bookkeeper and office administrator. She also became involved in the church, whether it be the Episcopal Church that Carl and Georgeanne attended most of their lives or most recently the Lutheran Church, in Crossville. Georgeanne was also an avid bridge player and upon retirement, she pursued a dream of becoming a life master bridge player.
Georgeanne is survived by her husband of 52 years, Carl Aubrey Hubbard of Fairfield Glade; son, Carl Aubrey Jr. of Prince William County, VA; grandchildren, Alexander Michael, Katherine Michelle-Marie, Cailin Marie and Devin Aubrey; and brother, Roswell Michael Lively.
A family graveside service was held on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The community is invited to a memorial service to be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Fairfield Glade on Oct. 18, 2016, at 11 a.m.
The family has asked that in lieu of cards, food and flowers, a donation to the American Cancer Society in Georgeanne's name would be much appreciated. Donations can be made at www.cancer.org/involved/donate/memorialgiving/index.
