Ellis Edgar Hodge, 98, of Pleasant Hill, TN, passed away Feb. 9, 2017. He was born Dec. 2, 1918, in White County, TN, the son of Levi and Fannie Cooley Hodge. He spent most of his lifetime farming and worked several years in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was an Army WWII veteran and also served as a volunteer fireman.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Randolph, Linda Smith and Sharon Blankenship and her husband Wayne all of Pleasant Hill, TN, and Sandy Wilson of White County, TN; grandchildren, Jimmy Smith, Logan Blankenship, Landon Blankenship, Ericka Wilson, Carley Wilson, Donna Hale and Angelica (Doris) Detweiler; 13 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; and one great great great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Hodge; daughter, Rachel Hale; and grandson, Matthew Potter.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Burial was in New Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
