Edward's Story

Edward W. Kimsey, 85, born in Sparta, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2017.
Mr. Kimsey was preceded in death by Ottie and Bessie Kimsey and Mary Kate England.
Edward served his country in the National Guard and the U.S. Army. He was director of the State Fire Marshal's Office, Nashville, city manager of Crossville and Cookeville, TN, yet his favorite job was being on the farm.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Merlyn Morgan Kimsey; daughters, Sandra McCord (Bill) of Ooltewah, TN; Tanna Easley (Mike) of Olive Branch, MS; and Vicki Presson (Dean) of Crossville; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; twin sister, Sarah Reynolds; and sister, Katherine Secrist.
A celebration of life was held at Hood Funeral Home, Crossville, on Sept. 3. A private interment followed at Oak Lawn Calvary Mausoleum, Sparta. TN.
