March 18, 1933—Oct. 27, 2015 Donald R. Hawker, 82, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away Oct. 27, 2015, at Cumberland House in Crossville, TN. Don was born March 18, 1933, in Dayton, OH. He was the son of Rayman and Margarite Morren Hawker, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene, of Fairfield Glade, and daughter, Deborah Ungericht Miller, of Ten Mile, TN. Don graduated from Beavercreek (Ohio) High School in 1951. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from the University of Dayton with a B.S. in education in 1959, and Kent State University with a Master of Arts in 1960. He retired from Dayton Public Schools after teaching and coaching for 30 years. Don and Irene moved to Fairfield Glade in 1987, where he actively served on community and golf committees and was instrumental in developing the Fairfield Glade Dog Park. Don was a people person, avid golfer and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Stonehenge Golf Clubhouse at Fairfield Glade on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at 4 p.m. CST. All who knew and loved Don are invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cumberland County Hospice, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Fairfield Glade Dog Park. Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc.
