Aug. 5, 1934—Sept. 8, 2015 Donald Handlon, 81, was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Chicago, IL, to the late Kenneth Handlon and Mary Pitzel Handlon and passed away Sept. 8, 2015, in Crossville, TN. He loved hunting and working at the steel mills of Indiana and Chicago where he was a supervisor. He also loved playing and watching many different sports and card games. He served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Lois Jean Handlon; daughters, Kimberly Nelson and husband, Gary, and Janice Kottka; son, Michael Bier; grandchildren, Sara Nelson, Dylan Nelson, Kelli Hatley, Monica Gregory and Jennifer Allison; great grandchildren, Kevin Kopas, Rebecca Sheehan, Alison Decker, Madison Decker, Bryan Norton, Jonathon Norton and Katheryn Swafford; and brother, Arnold Handlon in Munster, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and childhood sister, Denise Handlon. Visitation for Donald will be Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jay Archer officiating. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
