Donald Richard Gundy, 88, of Fairfield Glade, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving wife of 63 years and his three children on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017.
He was born Aug. 8, 1928, in St. Paul, MN, to John Gundy and Edna (Zellner) Gundy, Euerle.
Donald worked as a civil engineer and construction manager for CBI for almost 40 years. For his work he traveled much of the United States and the world especially throughout Europe and the Middle East having lived in England, Scotland, Saudi Arabia and St. Croix. He also proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II having boxed and played football for the Navy. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, dance club, investing club, playing bridge and ice cream.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Gundy, Fairfield Glade; sons, John (Kay) Gundy and Patrick (Tammy) Gundy; and daughter, Joyce (Matthew) Marzullo. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Link who passed away in December.
Memorial services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Albert Sescon officiating. Interment in St. Francis Columbarium.
