May 22, 1925 Dimpsie Kate Potter, born May 22, 1925, peacefully went home to be with her Heavenly Father at the age of 89 surrounded by her loving family. She was an active member of Murray’s Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, W.A. Potter; parents, Lee Roy and Addie Jeffers; daughter, Sharon (Potter) Moree; grandson, Joseph Potter; sons-in-law, Harold Thacker and Larry Everhart; sister, Audrey Fox; and brothers, Coy and Bayless Jeffers. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Smith, Lois and Dennis Wilbanks, Wanda Everhart, Wilma and Doyle Ogle, Peggy and Steve Simpson; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Joanne Potter, Rick and Bonnie Potter; sister, Velma Street (Jonesborough); sisters-in-law, Edna Jeffers (East Peoria, IL), Jean Potter (Church Hill, TN) and Eveyln Phillps (Crossville); brother-in-law, Harold Potter (Woodbury); 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for the service will be the grandsons. The family will receive friends at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, Wednesday, May 20, from 5 until 7 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. in Kyker’s Chapel. The Rev. Bobby Lawson and the Rev. Clint Riddle will officiate. A graveside service and interment will be held Thursday, May 21, at 11 a.m. in the Sweetwater Memorial Park.
