Oct. 8, 1938—April 7, 2015 Curtis Sterling Cross, 76, of Crossville, passed away April 7, 2015, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. He was born Oct. 8, 1938, in Byrdstown, TN, the son of the late Jess Cross and Lillie Pearl (Crawford) Cross. He worked as a carpenter and attended the Zion Assembly Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Cross of Crossville; sons, James Cross (Cathi), Gary Cross (Janice), Waymond Cross and Terry Cross (Alice), all of Crossville; daughter, Barbara Matthews of Sparta; brothers, Robert Cross and Jack Cross, both of Crossville; and sister, Brenda Cross of Crossville. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, June Cross; sons, Leslie Cross and Shirley Cross; daughter, Jackie Squires; father, Jess Cross; mother, Lillie Pearl Cross; brothers, James Cross, I.H. Cross and Lee Cross; and sisters, Kathleen Swafford and Betty Campbell. Funeral services will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home April 10, at 10 a.m., with Bro. Byron Harris officiating.
