Funeral services for Clemma Rose Welch, 85, of Crossville, were held on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Mike McCoy officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Burial followed at Smith Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family was held prior to the service.
Mrs. Welch passed away on Aug. 8, 2016, at the Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
Clemma Rose Welch was born on March 12, 1931, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William A. and Pansy Nola (Boatman) Gentry. Mrs. Welch worked as a cook with the state of Tennessee and was a member of Crossville First Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, M. Thomas Welch, Jr.; daughter, Cathy Welch Seegraves; son, Tommy Welch; and two brothers, Benton Gentry and James Hollis Gentry.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Philip (Shirley) Welch, La Vernge, TN, and Bill Welch, Maryville, TN; two daughters, Thresa Welch Hargrove, Gallatin, TN, and Ellen Welch Griffith, Crossville, TN; three brothers, Birch Gentry of Ohio, Milton Gentry of Florida, and Franklin Gentry of Ohio; sister, Castella Thompson; and 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The family request that memorial donations be made to Mrs. Welch's church Crossville First Freewill Baptist Church.
Whitson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
