Clay Carey, 88, of Crossville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
He was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Tazewell, TN, son of the late Mitchel Carey and Rachael Ann (Fortner) Carey. Clay worked as a surveyor, and also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Carey, Crossville; son, Randy (Sara) Carey, Crossville; foster son, Herschel (Sheila) Becker, Crossville; grandchildren, Kayla Wilson and Joshua Becker, both of Crossville; brother, Ray Carey, Crossville; and sister, Eupal Cline, Crossville.
In addition to his parents, Clay was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Carey, and sister, Bena Mae Cline.
Graveside services and burial were held at Oak Hill Cemetery on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at 3 p.m. with Bro. Jim Harvey officiating.
Donations can be made in Clay's name to the Oak Hill Cemetery Fund.
