Christopher McKinley Capps, 69, of Crossville, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
He was born Aug. 12, 1946, in Crossville, son of the late Fred Armond Capps Sr. and Etta Mae (Nichols) Capps. Chris worked in the heating and air field as an electrician and was a member of the Cumberland Worship Center. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Capps of Crossville; son, Shawn (Andrea) Capps of Crossville; daughters, Chrystal (Carl) and Amy (Jason) Ward, both of Crossville; grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Capps, Billy Segers, Shaina (Cody) Patton, Autumn (Shane) McGonigle, Rebekah Capps, Sara Ward, Autumn Ward, Nathan Ward and Olivia Ward; great-grandchildren, Riley Kay McGonigle and Braylee June Patton; and sister, Doris Murray of Knoxville.
In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Armond Capps Jr.
Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Chris Palmer officiating. Interment in Crossville City Cemetery with full military honors.
Pallbearers were Christopher Capps, Billy Segers, Curt Segers, Shaw Gilespie, Cody Patton, Steve Dillard and Juan Carlos Salces.
