Byron Bernard Roland, 79, of Crossville, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2016, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
He was born Oct. 4, 1936, in Meridian, MS, son of the late Oda Carl Roland and Virgie May (Hunt) Roland. Byron worked as an electrician in the Cumberland Medical Center maintenance division. He also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Roland, Crossville; daughters, Sherry Lynn Lawson, Monterey, TN, and Virginia "Kathy" (Jeff) Patton, Crossville; son, Bobby (Angela) Roland, Crossville; sisters, Juadine Bland of Georgia and Mary Ann Owings, Rockwood, TN; brother, Charles Roland of Louisiana; grandchildren, Shasta Lawson Todd, Amy Roland Parker, Cody Wayne Lawson, Chad Dewayne Roland, Byron James Roland and Jacob Roland Patton; and great-grandchildren, Hayden Michael Todd, Peyton Ray Houston, Anna Kathryn Todd, Evan Jacob Smith, Isaac Noah Lawson, Ian Nathanael Lawson, Lillian Grace Parker, and Remi Karina Roland.
In addition to his parents, Byron is preceded in death by his sister, Eugenia Roland, and brother, Lionel Roland.
Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Bro. Thom Hassler officiating. Interment in Green Acres Memory Gardens with full military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were Cody Lawson, Chad Parker, Eric Todd, Chad Roland, Jacob Patton and Byron James Roland.
