Bill Edington, 85, of Spring City, TN, passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Edington was of the Baptist faith.
He was retired from Roane Electric as a crane operator and from the construction business. Bill was a member of the Knights of Pythias Oak Leaf Lodge in Rockwood. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Rockwood FA&M #403 and the Alhambra Shiners in Chattanooga. In his golden years, he enjoyed antique cars, fishing and going to Hardee's to hang out with his friends. Above all he was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all.
Mr. Edington was preceded in death by his parents, Gaither and Lissie Edington; brothers, Carl, Eugene, Jim and Edward Edington; first wife, Lennie Edington; and second wife, Imogene Edington
He is survived by his sons, Billy Edington (Deb) and Dwight Edington (Trish); daughters, Lennie McFalls (Sonny), Cathy Helton and Susie Nichols (Roy); brothers, Robert Edington, Austin Edington and Kenneth Edington; sister, Thelma Strewsbury; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and lots of friends in the community.
Arrangements are as follows: Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Mortuary, with a funeral to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Bob Shaver officiating. Graveside and interment will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at 3 p.m. in the Millstone Mountain Cemetery in Cumberland County, TN.
Evans Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
