April 26, 1945—Sept. 5, 2015 Betty Lou Hedgecoth, 70, of Crossville, passed away Sept. 5, 2015. She was born April 26, 1945, in Cumberland County, TN, the daughter of Horace and Stella Atkinson Wattenbarger. She worked many years providing child care in her home to many children in Cumberland County who lovingly referred to it as “Miss Betty's Daycare.” She was also a member of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her brother, Sam Wattenbarger of Crossville; sisters, Geneda Ashburn of Crossville, Delphia Perry and her husband John of Chattanooga, TN, Lois Van Emburgh of Crossville and Wanda Hale and her husband Jimmy of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jordan, Jessica, Justin and Jake Hedgecoth; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom “Salty” Hedgecoth; son, Jeff Hedgecoth; four brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Kerley and Bro. Mark Hall officiated with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
