July 23, 1933—Aug. 14, 2015 Anna L. “Lucille” Welch (née Kilgore), 82, of Elyria, OH, passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, after a lengthy illness. She was born July 23, 1933, in Dripping Springs, TN. She attended high school in Tennessee and has resided in Elyria for the past 60-plus years. Lucille was employed at First National Bank, Style Center, J.C. Penney’s, H&R Block, Grants and Isaly’s and retired in 1990. She was a dedicated member of Elyria Community Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years, taught Sunday school for over 30 years and was an active member of S.A.M. (Senior Adult Ministries). She was also a charter member of a Baptist church in Mayland, TN. She enjoyed crafts, painting, cooking for all and spending time with her family. Mrs. Welch is survived by her daughters, Deanna “Darlene” Lauffer (Herb) of Brighton Twp., Deborah J. Mohney of Logan, and Pamela G. Welch of Elyria; grandchildren, Shawn Lauffer (Charity Morrow) and Vera Lea (Adam) Hazlett; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Walter “Ab” Welch; infant daughter, Martha Welch; grandson, Nicholas Mohney; siblings, Lillian Bell Tays, Bertha Scharer and Oscar Kilgore; and nine infant siblings. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to the Elyria Community Church of the Nazarene, c/o Sunday School Department and Heaven Train Ministry, 1107 Clemens Avenue, Elyria, OH 44035. The funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015. Busch Funeral and Crematory Services (www.buschfuneral.com) was in charge of arrangements.
