On Saturday, June 11, 2016, Amy Wakefield Bilbrey went to be with her Father in Heaven. She was a beautiful, kind soul and will be missed by many. Amy loved her family unconditionally, and many considered her their best friend. She was an avid reader, loved traveling and being active with her family. Amy was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was a former member and pianist at Memorial Baptist Church. She served over 25 years and retired from Cumberland Medical Center where she was highly admired.
She is survived by her sister, Johnnie Hale; children, Honold Scott and Crystal Bilbrey, Stephen and Leslie Bilbrey, Kelly Bilbrey, and Christopher and Carrie Bilbrey; grandchildren, Honold Scott Bilbrey Jr., Sarah Goney, Gentry Brown, Timmy Doyle, Tabitha Doyle, Alexandria Quince, Kyle Quince, Stephen Bilbrey Jr. and Rose Johnson; and multiple great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Reba Wakefield; siblings, Irene, Gene, Bobbi, Joanne, Nell and Mary; husband, Honold Bilbrey; and dear companion, Lawrence Johnson.
Funeral services were held at Central Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at 6 p.m. with the Rev. H.C. Couch and the Rev. Billy Kemp officiating. She was laid to rest at Green Acres Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Andy Owen, Millard Lovelace, Doug Elam, Gentry Brown, Kyle Quince and Tom Bruno.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to a college fund for Stephen "Stevie" Bilbrey Jr. through Regions Bank at 484-6121.
