Alvie Jean Ward, 76, of Crossville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 6, 1940, in Williamson, WV, son of the late Mirl Ward and Lillian (Dodson) Ward.
Alvie worked in machine repair for Chrysler Corp. and was a member of the Crossville First Free Will Baptist Church. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Ward, Crossville, TN; sons, Alvie (Lisa) Ward Jr., Harriman, TN, Joshua (Rebecka) Ward, Crossville, TN, and Jason (Amy) Ward, Crossville, TN; daughter, Stephanie (Jeff) Thayer, Gallatin, TN; brothers, Marvin Ward, OH, David Lee Ward, Crossville, TN, and Carl Ward, OH; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Alvie was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Ward and Douglas Ward; and sister, Brenda Ward.
Funeral services will be held at Crossville First Free Will Baptist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Mike McCoy officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment in Crossville City Cemetery.
