Al Colton, 91, was born June 20, 1924, to Lee and Edith Colton in Centerville, IA, and passed away on May 1, 2016, in Crossville.
He enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the U.S.S. Washington BB56 in World War II. He owned Mr. Al's Body Shop in Sturgis, SD, and was very involved in the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Al was a faithful servant to the Lord and served as chairman of deacons at First Baptist Church in Sturgis. He was a member of Lantana Road Baptist Church in Crossville.
Al is survived by his wife of 70 years, Loretta Colton; sons, Douglas R. Colton (Barbara) and Jay D. Colton (Linda); daughter, Lynda S. Adams; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister, Dee Palmer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Edith Proffitt Colton; sister, Twyla Phiffer; brothers, Lester and Chuck Colton; and daughter, Shelly Faber.
The family will receive friends at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, May 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Crossville City Cemetery on Friday, May 6, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Scott Johnson officiating.
